Therese Sands, Co-CEO of People with Disability Australia (PWDA) – a member organisation of DPO Australia – will be making a keynote address at the First National Virtual Disability Conference, on Wednesday 21st March 2018.
The presentation is titled ‘Community living – making the convention on the rights of persons with disabilities a reality‘ and will include discussion on community living in the context of the transformative equality framework provided in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Therese Sands will also be chairing a panel discussion on the topic of community living, along with John McKenna (VALID), George Taleporos (Summer Foundation), Patricia O’Brien (Centre for Disability Studies), and advocates, Cameron and Maggie Skinner.
The First National Virtual Disability Conference will bring people together online in real time from around the world to share best practice and discuss ways of supporting people with disability, their families and service providers. Registration for individuals is $50.00.
